What are my options
When it comes to customizing Xbox 360 you can either buy a whole new Xbox 360 replacement case that looks different from the stock case from XCM or you can go ahead and paint your original Xbox 360 case, given that it doesn't have any major scratches.
I want to paint my case
Painting your Xbox 360 is a process that you get better at the more you do, just like anything else in life. However I believe that if you follow my tips that I give you, your Xbox 360 should come out close to perfect, if not perfect.
What is the process?
First, if your Xbox 360 has minor scratches then you're going to want to get them out. After that we give it one or two good layers of primer, three good layers of paint (providing that you want a solid color Xbox 360) and three good layers of acrylic clearcoat. All these layers of paint require sanding in between to get an extremely smooth factory like finish.
What do I need?
Xbox 360 case
powder proof latex gloves
sandpaper (300 grit, 600 grit, 1000 grit, 2000 grit, if possible)
spray paint (primer, paint, acrylic clear coat, for plastics)

Preparation
Before you start painting your Xbox 360 you will need to prepare it first. Obviosly your Xbox 360 console needs to be disassembled already, so take everything except the faceplate (make sure your latex gloves are on). Start washing the Xbox 360 in some warm water and some dawn dish soap. Now you have to dry your Xbox 360. You can either do this by letting it air dry, let the water evaporate, or use an air compressor and blow air on it. Be sure not to get any of your oil from your hands on the surface. This can happen if you touch your Xbox 360 without your latex powder proof gloves.
Painting
Now it's time to paint your Xbox 360. First, you want to make sure that there is no dust or particles on your Xbox 360. After that, get the Krylon fusion primer and start painting. Be sure to spray 5 to 6 inches away from the surface. Spray in smooth, even strokes making sure to go past the surface. Also, be sure not to get excess paint on the Xbox 360 in one coat; this is because too much paint will leave blemishes. After you're done with the primer let the paint dry for 24 hours. Then go on to your actual paint. While painting over your primer the same rules apply. You probably want to get three coats of paint on the Xbox 360. Let your paint dry for 24 hours. Makes sure you let your Xbox 360 dry for 24 hours in between each different color of paint that you apply. Finally apply five coats of clear coat, letting your Xbox 360 dry for at least an hour in between each coat of clear coat.
Tips
(Outline)
- Spray your paint 5 to 6 inches away from your Xbox 360.
- Paint in smooth even strokes.
- Paint past the Xbox 360 suface.
- Don't spray to much paint in one coat.
Face plate
Now on to the faceplate, disassemble the Xbox 360 faceplate USB spring door and memory slot doors break the plastic that holds in the sync button, and wash everything(make sure you have your latex gloves on). Now you need to tape off the wireless spot above the memory card slots and power button. Now you con paint your Xbox 360 faceplate following the same steps you did for painting the rest of the case.
Afterwards
Now you are going to want to let your Xbox 360 cure for a week or two. This lets the paint harden and protects your work.
